Sumatra Pasak Bumi is rooted in both the traditional Batak community of Tanah Karo and the scientific environment of North Sumatra. The company operates as an independent commercial entity, drawing on local ethnobotanical knowledge while maintaining a strong emphasis on scientific rigor, quality control, and regulatory compliance.
We are licensed by the Indonesian government to obtain Pasak Bumi (Tongkat Ali) from the tropical rainforests of North Sumatra. Our activities include the responsible sourcing of plant material and the preparation of root and leaf extracts, carried out with attention to sustainability and long-standing local practices.
All processing is conducted in compliance with national regulatory requirements, and the finished product is authorized for legal marketing by Indonesia’s national food and drug regulatory authority, the Indonesian National Agency of Drug and Food Control (BPOM).
From the outset, quality control has been a central priority. Our extracts undergo laboratory testing in accordance with regulatory requirements and established analytical methods. In addition to regulatory review, testing has been conducted in laboratories of various faculties of the University of North Sumatra, where samples were found to comply with established standard parameters for quality and safety.
To support international distribution, our products have also been tested in independent laboratories in Malaysia, Europe, and the United States. These analyses are conducted to verify compliance with United States and European standards concerning microbiological safety and the absence of heavy metal contamination.
