Butea Superba (กวาวเครือแดง) is a prostrate vining legume native to the deciduous forests of Thailand. It has been used for centuries in Thai traditional medicine, where the large tuberous roots are harvested for their high concentration of flavonoids and phenolic glycosides. It is often referred to as "Red Kwao Krua" to distinguish it from its female-centric counterpart, White Kwao Krua (Pueraria mirifica).
Our extract is standardized to 4% Butein and also contains significant levels of isoflavonoid glycosides. Butein is a chalcone and a potent antioxidant that is believed to play a role in the plant's effect on circulatory health and PDE5 inhibition pathways.
While both are used for male vitality, they work via different mechanisms. Tongkat Ali (Eurycoma longifolia) primarily influences the endocrine system by optimizing testosterone synthesis. Butea Superba acts more directly on the circulatory system and cAMP (cyclic adenosine monophosphate) levels. Many users combine them for a multi-pathway approach to performance.
We source our Butea Superba tubers from wild-crafted harvests in the open-canopy forests of Thailand. The specific geological conditions of the Thai forest floor are essential for the plant to develop its defensive chalcones and flavonoids.
Butea Superba has a long history of traditional consumption. Modern toxicological studies suggest it is safe within recommended dosages. PT Sumatera Pasak Bumi extracts are produced under strict GMP conditions to ensure the absence of contaminants or heavy metals.
Because our extract is highly concentrated and contains no fillers, a typical dosage is 250mg to 500mg per day. It is most effective when taken consistently as part of a nutritional regimen.
